I popped it into the microwave, set the timer, and went on with my busy life.
I did turn on the dishwasher too.
Who knows how long later, because I really can't remember, Cameron came to me and said "Mom, something is burning in the kitchen and it's all smokey."
I immediately thought our dishwasher burned up because it hasn't sounded very good lately. I quickley turned it off.
We hurried and opened windows and didn't see any smoke coming from anywhere but the smell was horrendous!
John thought it smelled like some sort of food that was burned. He was right and boy was it burned! Yikes!

I guess this is what happens when you add an extra "0" to your time. That's the only thing that I can think of is that my 1:00 minute became 10:00 minutes. Or maybe it was 2:00 minutes became 20:00 minutes. Who knows.
Sorry to all those who live down wind. The smell was pretty bad. I wonder how long it will take to get the smell out of my house. Now every time I use the microwave, I can smell it again. Yuk!

That stinks. Ha ha ha
Last week my son experimented with a recipe for chocolate cake in a mug. He asked me what to press for 10 minutes - so I told him. 10 minutes later our house was stinking about like yours I'm sure! It took days and you can imagine how our clothing and hair smelled to those at church and school!
Nothing can match the smell of burned brocolli. That one never goes away! You didn't burn bacon, you are just an overachiever!
Geez, did it burn your plate too? Nothing worse thatn that burned smell. Let some water boil in your microwave for a little bit with some vanilla in it or something and see if it helps the smell.
DId you eat it anyway? Ha ha... I bet the smell lasts a while. At least popcorn smell does.
Oh yuck! I wondered what I smelled in the air that day!
