Washington D.C. Day 1

I flew out with my niece to Washington D.C. to meet my brother who had to do some training for work. My nephew was also supposed to come with us but unfortunately he got very sick the morning we left and couldn't even get out of bed. So, he didn't make it and he ended up with strep throat. What a bummer! I felt bad for him and also my brother who was wanting to spend some time with him before he(my brother) goes to Mexico for work.

We took the METRO (underground subway) into Metro Center where we started walking and headed to see the White House. No going inside this trip.

I had to take a picture of the security guard on top of the White House

We also saw the Dept. of the Treasury, the Dept. of Justice, Fords theater, and the J. Edgar Hoover FBI building.

It was also the Cherry Blossom Festival so the Cherry Blossoms were Beautiful!

I am glad I didn't have to drive anywhere here. The roads are crazy! We took a taxi from the airport to our hotel and I was holding on for dear life! Some of the roads are really narrow, and there are cars parked on both sides of a two lane road. I wouldn't want to park my car on the side of the street! You barely squeeze by and the taxi driver hardly even would slow down! Crazy!
