Happy 14th Birthday Cameron!

I can't believe I am the mother of a 14 year old! Two more years until driving and dating! Wow! How time flies!

I still remember the day Cameron was born. John was getting ready to go out the door to pick up my nephew to take him to the Nicklecade. Before he left, I had a little incident having to due with "water". :) And this was the only time out of all four of my kids that I ever had the "water" incident. So, John didn't leave out the door which I was very thankful for. That was back in the day when none of us had cell phones.

This was two weeks from my due date.

So, let me back up to the day before he was born. My Aunt Joyce had just passed away from Ovarian cancer. So I had a very emotional day that day. My mom was able to fly in from California. We all believe that my aunt got up to heaven and told Cameron he better get down there and cheer every one up. :)

We arrived at the hospital around 12:00-12:30p.m.,and I had already started having contractions by then. I was checking in at the desk and telling them I was in labor. I actually knew most of the ladies because I was working at the same hospital. They didn't believe me that I was in labor, I guess because I didn't act like I was in a lot of pain. I really didn't feel a whole lot of pain.

They got me all checked in and "checked" me and said I was dilated to a 4. Then they were really surprised because I wasn't showing signs of pain.

A few hours later just after 4:00pm. Cameron John Passey was born weighing in at 6 lbs. 8 oz. We didn't know what we were having so it was a big surprise! I loved not knowing.! I like surprises! I think it took us a day to figure out what his name was going to be. We had it narrowed down to 2 or 3 names.

John, my mom, two sisters, two sisters-in-law, and my mother-in-law were all there to witness! It was very exciting!

Now, it's 14 years later. Cameron is a very nice young man. He is a big help to his siblings and mom and dad. He gets very good grades in school and is an awesome reader! He will tell you that school is boring but he really likes school and hates to miss any classes for appointments. He loves BYU football, and playing Playstation and computer games.

We love you Cameron and are so proud of you! Have a wonderful 14th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Cameron. I know Jeff enjoys having him in his scout troop and we both loved teaching him in Sunday school. He is a bright young man, and very well behaved. I loved reading your memory of his birth.

Wow! Only in labor for about 4 hrs on your first? Impressive! I am also impressed you had so many people in the room with you. Funny how time flies by. I can't believe he's fourteen. When we moved here I remember all your kids being so little, well except Alyssa I guess. Happy Birthday to Cameron!

What a handsome young man! I am also surprised that you had such a short labor for your first! What about your other kids? And did the labor pains get worse before you got an epidural (or did you do it the natural way?)

Happy Birthday! What a great post. I can't believe he is 14! Josh will be there next week. I remember what good friends those two used to be. Time truly passes so quickly.
